The Program

A 12-week intimate support & healing program for women with MS

From symptom to superpower: The MS Stage and The MS Stage Method were developed by me, Megan Evans, as a different kind of healing support group - one based on my love of theater, dance, and style, as well as, my own experience and knowledge learned over my nearly two decade journey with MS. On my journey, I found that there was a gap in the MS support community, and I knew I needed to fill it.

The MS Stage is a sacred space for women around the world with MS to commune through meditation, movement, improvisation and storytelling to connect with your bodies on a deeper level of trust, feel more in control of your healing journey, and unleash the hidden superpowers in your symptoms.

Transform fear and frustration of MS into an inspirational and empowering healing path to wholeness - mind, body, spirit.

The MS Stage is a 12-week guided experience to claim your “hero’s journey” with MS.

You will discover what it is here to teach you.

You will learn that it’s okay to love and accept your symptoms.

You will be a part of a global sisterhood who understands
what you are going through.

The MS Stage Method teaches active forms of mindfulness practices in order to connect with your symptoms on a deeper level and ultimately rewrite their stories by connecting with different emotions. Once you get clear on the story, explore a playground of practical tools to go-to as you navigate new levels of MS. You will be supported to curate  your own path towards reclaiming your superpower. You’ll leave having opened up a whole new healing world full of optimism, hope, and peace of mind.

Think of The MS Stage as a playground of tools - intentionally curated for YOU!

 What you will learn

Stage 1: The Dress Rehearsal

GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND INTO YOUR BODY

The Call to Adventure

(2 hours on Zoom)

The call signifies that destiny has summoned the hero. YOU are the hero in this story. Once you have answered the call and signed up for this program, your stage will be set to open up a world of possibilities and create newness on your journey with MS. “When you see someone come on stage who really knows where she is, it’s a different experience than someone whose body seems to be different limbs attached to a torso.” Joseph Campbell - The Hero’s Journey

In this module, you will learn the fundamental tools of the program ultimately leading you to be present in every moment of your journey with MS. It is a marathon and not a sprint after all. The first tool is the warm up exercise I created to help me called Switch. Switch helps you move different emotions through your body’s symptoms with music. You will also meditate on the newness you are creating with music to turn the page on your diagnosis. You will do a character exercise to check in with your relationship with MS and begin to understand the value of being truly present in your body. And you will learn how to compassionately mirror back to each other how you felt when you witnessed each other’s stories and movement.

PLANT SEEDS OF ACCEPTANCE

Crossing the Threshold

(2 hours on Zoom)

This module is when you begin to lean into your MS and cross the threshold into the unknown, ultimately embracing it. You will embark on a search to find unexpected insights into what you are resisting, so that we can begin to get you to a place of acceptance. You will learn how to feel that deeply not just in your brain, which likes to try to outsmart us by blocking our intentions, but in your body.

I will guide you on a Vision Walk to see how your body is telling you to let go of your fears, so that you can witness what is blocking you and clearly learn from your heart’s desire how to release and surrender. You will then embody that new experience through movement and hold the feeling of aliveness and presence in your body - quite possibly for the first time on your MS journey. The goal here is to find and learn the deeper power within yourself and follow the path of the messages you receive along the way.

MEET YOUR SYMPTOM

The Road of Trials

(2 hours on Zoom)

This week, you are going to dive more into self-love and your worst MS symptoms. This is when the hero endures trials, obstacles and ordeals and faces their fears. We will work specifically with when your trial with MS began and your symptoms that occurred. You will begin to lean on your symptoms for support and unveil the character that is at their essence as your ally not your enemy. You will give your worst symptom a name and learn more about its persona to understand their story and why they showed up for you.

You will cultivate a new relationship with the character of your symptom and begin to feel compassion and love for him or her. You will even discover its signature move so that you can dance with it and use it as a healing force. The group will nurture each other by seeing and feeling your common experiences and appreciating each other’s courage, wisdom and strengths which are being infused in each of you through witnessing. There is power in the group experience, and you will be opening up more and more to it at this point.

DISCOVER YOUR SUPERPOWER

The Supreme Ordeal

(2 hours on Zoom)

Now that you have learned more about your symptom’s persona, what it wears, what it likes to do, you go even deeper with him or her. Like a detective, you are going further and further into your symptom investigation.

This week you will turn the symptom that scares or annoys you into something that begins to empower you. You will discover your symptom’s superpower and become their friend, as they instill this superpower onto you during a guided meditation to feel truly empowered. You will then embody this superpower by moving different emotions through your symptom’s signature move. You will slowly learn the importance of becoming grateful for your symptom in order to live in your greatest potential with it. The goal this week is to ultimately turn your fears into fuel and let the rest go.

APPRECIATE YOUR SYMPTOM’S BLESSINGS

The Reward

(2 hours on Zoom)

Once you have discovered what your symptoms’ superpower is and watched as it filled up in every cell of your body, you will begin to understand the premise of The Reward as it takes you even further into the concept of loving yourself exactly where you are and being in gratitude with ALL of it.

By Soaking it all in, you can begin to integrate your body with this new power. You will find an even deeper understanding on this journey and begin to relate to and love your MS symptom and the blessings it is there to show you. This module is all about the “Lesson in Radical Gratitude”. You will celebrate your magnificence and begin to notice the shift of your relationship to MS and your worst symptoms now versus what they were just a few weeks ago.

SHINE THE NEWNESS

The Journey Back

(2 hours on Zoom)

This week, you will begin to see yourself in living color, visioning your dreams and shining the newness you have experienced during The MS Stage within yourself and with others. You will play with joyous feelings and colors, bringing your stories and experiences home with you and integrating the lessons and blessings into your cells.

The goal is that you will round out this 6-week journey with  a new perspective, a shared experience, and a new story to share with your body. Your bodies will show you where to go and what story to share as your return back to true self.

What happens next

I don’t just leave you high and dry. You have the opportunity to have ongoing support with me.

After you complete Stage 1: Dress Rehearsal, you will take a 2-week break to let the work integrate into your body. Then you will move onto Stage 2: Opening Night to take you on a deeper path to return to yourself.

After you have completed the 12 weeks, you will be offered a membership level with drop-in classes, accountability, and connection with other women to keep your practice going in the online community portal.
