Surround Yourself with Love and Move Your Body to Reduce MS Symptoms

Albert Einstein said: “Everything is energy. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

Did you know that the highest frequency is love?

So what if you loved your body? Every part. Every inch. Every cell.

What if you loved your being? Every thought. Every breath. Every instinct.

If all of that was possible, you would be radiating love all the time for yourself and in turn, others would feel that energy and your love would spread all around you.

Some things never change! This photo was me almost 14 years ago at my rehearsal dinner party dancing with a friend in 3.5 inch silver stilettos. That was 6 years after my diagnosis. That photo has been glued to my vision board the last few months because it reminds me of that joyous feeling!

The cover photo of this blog post is of me a couple weeks ago wearing the exact same dress dancing the night away but this time in silver sparkly sneakers, with my cane resting on a chair nearby IF I needed it - (which I never did when I was dancing by the way).

You know why? Because my body was in total joy when I was dancing and celebrating our friend’s wedding! The joy and love my body felt allowed my leg, Roxy, to flow easier and hence I didn’t need my cane on the dance floor.

There’s scientific proof dancing benefits multiple sclerosis symptoms

The science backs up what I felt on the dance floor and what I teach in my MS support group, The MS Stage. A recent review of clinical trials of music-related interventions for people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis showed the benefits of dance-interventions. Researchers found that dance improves mobility, balance, and gait speed for people with MS.

The wedding was full of love in the air! It was palpable. It wasn’t all the little details, which of course were spectacular, but it was truly the energy throughout the weekend.

It was clear that over 200 people had come together to celebrate these two special souls not just because of the guests’ love for each of them individually but for the couple’s love for each other which radiates around everyone they are with.

Four of my girlfriends and I had flown in from around the country to celebrate the bride. We had never met the groom, but as soon as we did, we understood even more their special story and their love.

Because it is expansive. It is boundless. It is completely judgment free, and it is pure.

And everyone around them feels it!

Oxytocin, the love hormone, is associated with social bonds, both romantic and platonic. It makes us trust and feel safe while reducing stress, you really can feel when “love is in the air.” But what’s even more amazing is that Oxytocin promotes healing and restoration. It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to regulate the immune system.

Witnessing my friend’s wedding and celebrating together not only felt great, it was good for my physical health as well. It was a magical weekend to say the least. It reminded me of my own wedding, which people still say they remember the high vibe love in the air.

The most important point for me was to realize that some things NEVER change. Circumstances might, like the sneakers and the cane and my age, but my zest, my joy, the love I felt around me and even my dress didn’t!

Speak to and about yourself with love and gratitude

So what if YOU could exude SO much love for yourself AND your body on a daily basis that everyone around you felt your high frequency - just like the energy at a wedding? Wouldn’t your body feel amazing too?

Now take a moment to think about how YOU can begin to love yourself and your body the way my friends demonstrated their love at their wedding. Start with the way you speak to yourself or start with a gratitude practice.

Try talking to your body the way you would your lover.

That energy feels yummy to me! What about you?

I hope this inspires you to know that your life isn’t over just because you were diagnosed with MS or any chronic illness for that matter! If anything it might just be beginning in some ways!

Don’t forget you can still find your joy in everything you do!!

Here is a 12-minute meditation for you to envision your CELLS dancing within your body. This will help you connect to source and envision your body happy and fulfilled.

The Mantra to remember from the meditation: “I share God’s will for happiness for me, and I accept it as my function now.”

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
